Registry Hacks  convince Windows to do things your way!

All of the files in this section are of the form XXXX.REG which are text files that the registry editor understands and can be imported into the registry to make changes to the way Windows functions. This feature of the Registry Editor allows files with the .REG extension to be saved or shared with other people to easily modify local registry settings. You can see the layout of these text files by simply exporting a key to a test file and opening it in Notepad, to do this using the Registry Editor select a key, then from the "Registry" menu choose "Export Registry File...", choose a filename and save. To use the files in this section simply download to a convenient location on your hard drive and then either double click or right click on the files and choose MERGE. NOTE most registry changes require a reboot before they take effect.

Disclaimer: Incorrectly modifying the registry can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. We cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of the registry can be solved. Use the information provided at your own risk.
